Strong Gusty Winds Down Tree Limbs, Cause Scattered Power Outages In Connecticut

Hundreds in Connecticut are now without power as high winds whip through the area.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Monday, March 29.

As of around 10 a.m. Monday, 1,132 of Eversource’s 1,284,773 Connecticut customers were still reporting outages, while United Illuminating was still working to repair four active outages impacting 40 of its 340,198 customers.

According to Eversouce, outages were still being reported in:

  • Colebrook: 271;
  • Coventry: 166;
  • New Milford: 102;
  • Hartland: 85;
  • Torrington: 72;
  • Wilton: 55;
  • Granby: 53;
  • Willington: 45;
  • Greenwich: 46;
  • Stamford: 39;
  • Norwalk: 37;
  • Washington: 27;
  • Goshen: 26;
  • Norfolk: 18;
  • Putnam: 16;
  • Hebron: 14;
  • Roxbury: 9;
  • Winchester: 9;
  • Westport: 8;
  • Danbury: 7;
  • North Canaan: 5.

Other outages were reported in Ashford, Essex, Haddam, Killingly, Litchfield, Middlebury, New Canaan, New Hartford, Salisbury, Tolland,

United Illuminating was also reporting outages in Bridgeport, Fairfield, and North Haven.
